Ok so friday i will be ordering LT Headers. I do not want to spend more then 400 bucks. Pypes makes stainless ones that look nice. But i want a pair which u do not need to take out in order to pull the tranny out. I know mac lt you can keep in if you need to take the headers out.. Does anyone know if u can leave the pypes long tubes in and take the tranny out?.

Also how important is it that they are stainless.. Mac makes ones that are 339 but they are not stainless... Does anyone have these?.. how are they?

I have Mac LT's on my Mach & I am very pleased with them. I bought them used off a buddy, & they look great even after being on his car for 2 years. They are Ceramic coated i think, but they do have a slight surface rust on them near the collectors. They Fit great too, & have great ground clearance, but im not sure if the tranny can be removed with them installed....i will know soon though, because I will be replacing my clutch soon....

I just installed MAC ceramic lt's in my 04. I haven't fired it up yet because I also just completed installation of a QA1 tubular k member and centerforce clutch. The headers bolted up fine the first time. I had to remove the driverside to dent one of the tubes in order for the steering shaft to clear it. If you have the extra dough I would suggest buying either a Flaming River or MM steering shaft that's made for long tube header clearance. If not, make sure you heat the pipe up with MAAP gas and use something long to stick down in between the tubes to to make a dent.

I was also lucky enough to find a brand new stainless steel Mac prochamber on ebay last year for $150! I previously ran an aluminum prochamber that I will be selling soon.

As far as installing the lt's one of the best decisions I made was installing the k member. I can lay under the car and reach every header bolt easily not to mention all 3 starter bolts. There's so much room I can probably remove the headers without ever having to drop the k member again. Money worth spent!

00GT ... nice car! Looks just like mine accept i've got the "reverse scoop" hood. Wanna trade me hoods?:D

I fired up the car when i got home and let it run for a while before taking it for a spin. Everything is working in good order. No clutch chatter at all and the exhaust is leak free. The difference in sound is night and day as well as a little more torque down low.
It's actually quieter with the lt's but more aggressive sounding while driving it around. It will be at least 500-1000 miles inner city driving before I can truly get on it though. Other than that I am off to the alignment shop first thing in the AM.

Overall the MAC LT's were worth it!
