So the other night my roommates and I are hanging out at 1:30 when we hear ricer exhaust, tires screeching and a loud crash. We go outside and can barely see down the road as two kids exit a car with one taillight, and look at it. Suddenly we all hear sirens as the kids take off with all of us 100 ft. away(too far to get a plate number). Well, we live off of University Blvd which gets A LOT of cops running code 3's at night. So I figured the cops weren't coming for them; it was too early for anyone to have made a call.
What we then figured out is that they knocked over a lightpole, which is why it was so dark where they were standing. Apparently, they came flying down our road, swerved to miss my roommate's '94 V6 parked out front, and went into the yard across the street. They then went sideways and hit the pole two houses down. We woke up the neighbors whose property was damaged and called the FHP. The FHP took a report, but since the kids fled, couldn't do much. We did however have their front bumper that was lost in the crash.
Today, we learned from the neighbors that the driver lived down the road and was found by the police because he parked his car out front.
That's the story. Here's the pictures.
