Mac 3" exhuast

Bigger is not always better and 3" exhaust on a 4.6L is too big! This is obviously just a marketing ploy, but it will likely cause a loss in power (over a 2.5" catback) and will probably not sound good either.
And we won't even get into the fact that it's made by MAC.

I may have heard wrong. If I did I am sorry for the confusion. I am with you about MAC products, never been a fan myself. But the first to come out with a three inch cat-back I will consider getting it. I myself think I could benefit from a 3" exhuast, I also have a supercharger.

There does come a time when a 3" exhaust is beneficial but it's definately not necessary to make a ton of power. I used a 2 1/2" chambered flowmaster cat back when I made 663 rwhp with more left in the car with an 8 rib and some fuel rails. I'm sure there was more to be had with a 3" exhaust at that point but the car was plenty loud as it was and I wasn't exactly short on hp.;)

Btw, I've used MAC products on 4 of the previous mustangs I've owned and never had any issues with thier stuff. From headers to h pipes to cat backs.

I've been hearing a few people on here bash the MAC catbacks. I purchased the new MAC catback a month ago.It has the black coating and 3" stainless steel tips. It sounds friggin awesome and was a piece of cake to install. Is something going to happen in the not so distant future with this set up? Will it fall off the car in 6 mos? Just curious because I'm diggin this catback! :nice:
