Hey all. I received my car with what looks like aftermarket headers. All I can tell about them is they have a badge on the drivers side that say MAC Direct Replacement. I cant find ANY information on MAC Direct replacement shorty headers for our year cars, so I was just wondering about them. Do they flow well?

I encountered the same situation when I bought my car. I did some research and found an article that compared a dozen or so equal length and regular shorty headers. If I remember correctly the Mac direct-fit came in the top 3 for airflow beating many of the equal-length shorties out there. I was impressed.

This is not true.... Check all the dyno charts you want, stock headers vs. aftermarket shorties, you'll notice most do not gain much power if any at all, until you get mod's like heads, intakes, cams, forced induction. On a stock car you will feel nothing, you will hear them though. This is one of those mods I would do dead last if I were to do it all again.
Now a midpipe, and cat back will yeild you more power as well as sound.
Also they are individually flanged design, so if you plan on taking them off and reusing them they will be warped. At my buddys exhaust shop (I help him there all the time) we have had to fight with the single flanged headers to get them back on, on numerous cars (including my own). I couldnt ever get mine to reseal correctly, thus the reason I got new headers.
Also if anyone is in so cal and needs exhaust work, give my buddy a Call at API exhaust in irvine, he has been one of my best buds since grade school, and his welder/installer is my best friend of 20+ years.
