Hey wuts up, i have a 68 mustang 289 with a c-4. I got a REALLY good deal on a pair of MAC equal lenght shorty headers for a 87-93 5.0 stang, $100! I called up over 30 Mustang vendors, performance shops, jegs, summit and even MAC performance and i could not get a straight answer from ANY of them!! what i wanted to know is are these headers going to clear my shock towers? i have a 289 so i know it will bolt up, but is the space between the heads and Tower in a 68 coupe enof to clear? Any help wold be awesome. Even if you dont know yourself but know someone or where i can go that would be great to.

undefinedI was told no, and also that it would be difficult to change the plugs with that type of header on an engine. I quit pursuing after that. If you have them, the only way to know for sure is to try it and see. Then you will be the expert.

Can't you just hold them up there and look to get an idea? If they look close, the only way to tell is to take your old exhaust off and try. I don't know why it would be difficult to change the plugs.

If nothing else, lay the flange on a flat surface and use a tape measure to see how far out the middle two tubes stick out at their furthest point in the shock tower area, then measure from the head surface over to the tower.
