My uncle has the MAC flowpath mufflers on his car, they sound like flowmasters but IMHO a little better. They sound more like a 4.6 mustang instead of a 5.0. He has had them for a while, no clue where he got them.
my 94 has shortie headers, aftermarket H-pipe with high flow cats and Mac Catback. it does sound good albeit loud. It takes some getting used to if you are not used to it (drone).
I will add that I am very pleased with the tailpipes that come with the system. They are beautiful chrome up to around the top of the axle (maybe further - I only climbed under that far to clean them up).
It seems to me that Mac does chroming for HD, and that says something to me.
I have the chrome tail pipes on my gt w cobra bumper. It looks good, I have had it for about 5 years now and the chrome is still intact. I also live in the desert. I love the sound, but sound is really a personal preference.
I persoanlly would take the MAC over the other systems, the new systems give you more adjustment since it is in 6 pieces, much better then a 1 piece tail pipe. I like the sounds, a little different then the ole Flowmaster.
wonder if the MAC pro dumps sounds good??? i was goin to orignally run dumps, cause its hard 2 get good lookin tips on a LX.. cause i hate big tips!!! what u all think???
I love the sound of them though they must be run with an h pipe. I hated my bassani x with the mac catback. H pipe is the way to go with these mufflers IMO.
I'm running stock headers with a mac h-pipe (no cats)and 2.5 pro dumps the quility is pretty good and the sound is great. But I/m thinking of changing it to slp or flows.
I bought my car with a flowpath exhaust and a Mac off road H pipe.... Stock headers.
I love the sound.... It's similar to flowmasters but a bit more agressive. It's fairly loud when you get on the gas, and has a nice deep muscle car sound. There's some drone at around 2,000 rpm, but I drive 20-30 mins on the highway every day going to work and never seem to notice it. Maybe because I'm always a little over the speed limit, which means I'm at like 2200 rpm with 3.08 gears.
I didn't install the catback itself, but I didn't have any trouble when swapping my off road pipe for a stock one and then putting it back again. The system has been on the car 2 or 3 years and still looks good, no rust.
