MAC headers + prochambers on :)

I had a o/r prochamber and mac cat-back exhaust on my '01 GT. Boy let me tell you, not only did it sound awesome, but everyone either loved the way she sounded or wanted to not race me for fear of what I was running (and I was n/a of course!).

Did you go o/r pro hamber? How's the quality of the MAC headers? I'm looking to upgrade the exhaust on my '07 as well and interested to know how your experience goes (both quality, and sound with the flowmasters on).

:hail2:

Yeah, I'm curious about quality as well. For fox bodys, Mac doesn't have a such a good track record for quality, but I wish I could get my hands on a 2005 Mac longtube (or mid-length tube, depending on who you listen to) and give the once over. I have an off road prochamber on my '97 Mustang though, and that really woke the sound up on this fairly quiet daily driver.

I hate the thought of paying $1000+ for LTs and midpipe, and the Macs and BBKs are a lot less...

Cmon guys! Give me a break. My mechanic said the headers were a bia to install. Took them a whole day, everything else was like an hour. I have a few sound clips, it's just it's not what I know a lot of you are hoping for. Hopefully I can do a better one. But here goes:

And yes, they are O/R w/o cats.

I think we need a drive away clip... :D

How is the quality, both fit & finish?

The ones I had on my '01 were nothing short of amazing, but the fit/finish were definitely lacking (can't tell you how many replacement tips I had them send me as they kept getting massive rust spots on them...till I realized a brillo pad took right off w/no scratching! )

I haven't really gotten under the car to see everything. The finish looked good when I pulled everything out of the box. Like I said the driver side headers were a bit tougher on the fit from what I understand, having to remove some of the steering components to get the fit 'right'. The prochambers went on like a champ. I'd strongly recommend if you're thinking about an exhaust manifold, you do this at the same time. I got everything from Brenspeed in a complete package and they've been very knowledgeable and helpful. I just wish my credit card was paid off to get a better tune :nice: Here are a few pictures I took without getting under the car. Hopefully they'll help some.
