MAC Pro-Chamber and driveability

I have an '02 daily driven GT and I was considering a MAC Pro-Chamber, but I am concerned about how it will affect the driveability. When I first got the car I had the cats cut out and pipe welded in their place and I hated the way it made the car drive so I switched it out with a buddy of mine for the factory cat set-up, I was wondering how the Pro-Chamber would compare. Better, worse, or the same.

I never knew how exhaust affect driveability? i've went from the stock midpipe and catback to a Bassani X-pipe and Flowmaster catback and still don't see driveability changes.

However, my Eibach sway bars do hit my catback at times...

I would think things like lowering the car would affect driveability, but not so sure about exhaust?

the only way i can think that it would affect it is that the exhaust flows better so that extra 5 hp is a big problem for him.... I mean dang 5 hp is like a whole new word didn't you know that??

what changed about the drivability?? was it too loud?? what more details

I did notice a little extra pep, and I loved the way it made the car sound. I have driven 5-speeds my whole life, but when I took the cats off it made the car almost impossible to drive. I am in a lot of stop and go traffic so for example to slow roll in first gear (have the car in first gear with your foot off the gas) the car would lunge uncontrolably. On approach to red lights to downshift into 2'nd and 1'st the car would basically put you through the windshield. It just made the car really hard to drive in a "city" situation, and like I said I have driven 5-speeds since I got behind the wheel of a car 13 years ago.

I've got an O/R Prochamber with a MAC Catback and have had no problems in Chicago city traffic coasting to a stop in first. Didn't have any problems with my last 3-4 exhaust setups either - including LT's, O/R H, etc.... No lunge problems.

Were the 02 Sensors installed backwards? Either that or you had an exhaust leak somewhere in there.

Sounds like an exhaust leak problem. I had to take my car with the pc on it to an exhaust shop to have them loosen the nuts because i couldnt physically do it because ford put them on way too tight, this was when i had to change to my stock h to pass smog. And driving it home, at idle, i had to give it gas to keep it from stalling.
On another note, the only problem ive had with my pc is that even with just bullitt suspension, i still sometimes scrape the pc on speed bumps and entrances and such to shopping centers sometimes. Other than that i really like mine, no drivability problems.

You will lose low end torque if you take your cats out or have an O/R pipe and this is probably what happened to you.

if you still have the problem with the loss of low end tq you can always do what i am going to do, buy some $40 high flow cats off ebay and install them yourself.. but mine is for emission purposes. and for me i'm lucky because i bought my o/r x pipe used for cheap. and then with the cats it will still be cheaper than buying a catted pipe.

Wont cause driveability issues from exhaust. Kind of wierd you experienced that, sounds more like a shady cam install... hah.
