I was just wondering if anyone knows production numbers for the "Mach 1" vs. the "Cobra II"? What I mean is, Is the 75 Mach 1 more rare than a 76 Cobra II and so on? or did ford put out an equal / near equal amount of both?

I don't remember the production numbers, but I know there were less Mach's produced then cobra's. The actual numbers are in a book I have at home, I'll try and find it tonight.

This link should provide all the info you seek

To answer your question though, there were twice as many Mach 1's made as Cobra II's overall. During the 3 years of Cobra production however, the Mach 1's became pretty rare. Replaced might be a better word.

For example, a 1977 Mach 1 is 2nd only to the King Cobras as far as limited production numbers go.

To furthur complicate things, you coud have a Mach 1 Cobra!!!! (looks like a Cobra but has the Mach 1 performance option).

My Cobra doesn;t have a bucktag, and I thought about painting it to look like a Mach 1. I see Cobra II's every so often but I haven;t seen a Mach 1 of that era for a LONG time

That is sort of in the plans for my Mach I always thought the hatches look like they are missing something without the real spoiler. Come paint time- I have the rear and front spoiler to put on, still undecided on a hood scoop, (I could use a little extra clearance for the air cleaner as the hodd closes almost right on top of it), but I'm going to keep the Mach paint/lower body6 stripe, and lettering, not add another Cobra "clone"
