Hey guys, is the rear end in a Mach 1 any different other than gears, than my 02 Gt? better axles? better posi? brakes? I have a chance to pick one up for a 100. bucks with low miles on it. If its better I'm thinking of getting it and doing a set of 3.73-4.10 in the new rear end. Do you guys think it's worth while upgrade?

Thanks Ram:SNSign:

Only difference in the mach, is that it has 3.55 gears....otherwise its the same as your GT. If you can get the WHOLE rearend for $100, then buy it and save it as a backup or something

Is it the whole rear end, including axles? For $100, I'd definitely pick it up. As was said, the main difference is the 3.55 gears, but also don't forget that the axles are already set up to accept the larger cobra/mach1/bullitt rear rotors.

Well you can take your time welding the tubes and painting it and installing your new gears. When it is ready you can swap it in

3.55's stock and larger rear disk brakes.

11.65" vs 10.5" GT stuff.

Thats the biggest benefit of this. I would pull the guts out of it and install your gear of choice with a 31 spline carrier.. and weld the tubes up.

It's mine

I bought it today after work, it's complete and clean. I take note and weld it up and put some gears in it. I'm hoping by next year this time it have some boost. Time to start saving.

Guy's thanks for all the help and advice, I'm sure it won't be the last time I ask for help.
