Does anyone know if the shift pattern on the mach 1 knob is painted black or anything? I walked by a mach this morning and looked in, and it looked like the shift pattern on the knob was a little bit darker that the rest of the knob (dark etching maybe). All of the mach 1 knobs I have seen for sale on the net look completely silver. Maybe it just looks a little different in person, or maybe it is just the deepness of the pattern that I am seeing. I know the person could have done this himself so I was just wondering, because it looks cool. Any response would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Nope, the numbers are just engraved into the knob, not painted.

Thanks catman. That would have kept me wondering all day. Does anyone have a close up pic of the knob?

one word of advice...the shift knob gets extremely hot!! esp. when your car sits in the sun all day!!!

It also stays warm if you have a Tri-ax!

Definately listen to the above post. Some days I wonder if Im going to have a shifter pattern burned into the palm of my hand. I wonder if I put a sock over it if it will keep it cool? Anyone have any remedies to the hot shifter knob problem?

If it sits in teh sun put a towel or rag over it, that helps some.

Amen brother!! I have the same experience on an all to regular basis. I ordered mine from CDC in their Bullitt kit. I love it!
