Mach 460 Upgrade

Well, I managed to blow up the right front speaker in my Mach 460 system. I want to change to something else because the buzzing sound is driving me bonkers. Would it be better to go with a component system, or could I just get away with throwing some 6X8s in there? I've got a Panasonic 7" DVD headunit in there, but I'm not sure how the shop wired up everything. How would regular 6X8s compare sound wise to a component set with separate woofers and tweeters? TIA.

i replaced my front and rear speakers with 6x8 kenwoods and i'm satisfied. less than $100 for all speakers and the wire to run them

Sweet, thanks dude. Did you keep the tweeters in the A-pillars? What amp do you use?

i did not keep the tweeters. i'm running everything off my pioneer dvd receiver.
