ok so here is my question, I have a mach 460 system setup on my 2000 mustang vert

I sent it to circuit city like an ******* to get an after market HU installed and they decided to mess it all up....first they said that the ford harness was messed up and that they needed to re-wire everything....

then they told me that they wired directly from the headunit to my speakers...so whatever (I didn't do much research at this point)...

after doing a whole lot of using the search button on this amazing site....I am still left with a question

IS it best to utilize the mach 460 stock amplifiers with an adapter OR wire directly to the ORIGINAL mach speakers??

as far as I know the mach speakers are 6 ohm unlike the standard 4 ohm

I'm starting to think that I will probably get the best sound out of using the factory (3) amps

what should I do...they have agreed to fix it....but I'm wondering wether to just tell them to scratch their idea to wire directly to the speakers and make it work this time...or tell them to use an adapter and use the factory amps

the unit I bought has 2 pre-amp outs ...it is the JVC KD-HDR30

My radio sounds fine using the amps, and an after market head unit. I would take it back and have them reverse everything they did. I would then check out my thread about the 460 install, follow those directions and install your own subs and whatever else you want. There is no need to move around the factory amps unless you want to install different speakers which in that case you would have to. Good luck-

You can use the factory amps with an intergrated harness, but there are let backs to using a factory amp sometimes. I've had some amps go bad after a while and you end up bypassing it anyways. If you wanted to change the radio, the best thing for the best sound was to change everything. a sound system is only as good as it's weakest part. If you still have factory speakers you might want to look into replacing those. and if you wanted better sound Amplifiers improve the sound dramaticlly.

the factory head unit has 50x4 amplification already built on..

I bought (because I'm on a budget) 2 50wRMS speakers for the doors....the speakers in the back are still stock and I am using the original amps..

I was thinking my next move is to replace the back speakers...rip out the mach system....throw a decent 200watt or more 4 channel amp and eventually get a sub
