Well I know there is no way this should have happened, but it did. First of all I would like to say this was on a closed course. My friend and I were washing our cars at my house today, when we were done I asked him if he wanted to run them. Now this friend has been making fun of my car since day one. He never comes out and says it but I know what he is trying to say. he always says how his car would smoke mine. Well I never let it bother me too much because well his car should. It is a 06 GTO 6.0 6spd.
My car is a 96 Mustang GT, 4.10's, King Cobra clutch, Full 2 1/2 inch exhaust with no cats, Fenderwall intake, plugs and wires. Lowered and a shortthrow shifter. Now I know mine is modded and his is stock but.. I dont think I should have even stood a chance. however I have a friend that used to have a mostly stock 05 GTO LS2 other than an exhaust with the 6.0 6spd. and he said my car pulled harder than his down low and that I should jump a GTO off of the line. So back to the main point, my friend and I go out to our safe spot and line them up. Our tires were still wet from washing our cars, stooped us
Anyway I launch at 3k rpms and just spin, then I get traction and pull a car on him, I then hit second and put another half a car on him, but then I miss third
So I knew I shouldnt try to play catch up and just let that go. We go get gas in his car while we were there he said I had him by atleast a car and a half
made me feel awesome. We then went back and tried it from about a 10mph roll, I had to honk three off and I started out about a half a car length behind him and thats how it stayed all the way through third. I cant believe my car put up such a good run with that big old 6.0
I dont think he will be saying much anymore although he tried to convince me that he wasnt even trying when I know he was because he was wouldnt run me from a stop again
So I know alot of people will say many reasons why my car did so good, weather, traction, modded vs. stock
Either way I am very proud of my stang and wish I had my Drag Radials on:SNSign: His car is about to get modded so I dont know that I will be competition much longer, but I will always remember this day and keep on loveing my factory freak

but I am going to try and go Friday night if its not too bad out. It would make sense because the couple I bought it off of are very big into racing he has a 8 1/2 notch he runs in the NHRA. She has a 12 second flat notch that is street legal and about to be in the 11's
