OK I did search but I couldn't find anything on what I want to do with my car. A little background on my project: It is a 1982 Mercury Capri RS, it had the original 2 barrel 302 that was tired, and I bought a 86 GT motor that was complete with injectors, fuel rail, cobra intake, and so forth. I have an 89 MAF harness and A9L computer, what the guy who is doing the conversion is telling me that the harness that goes behind the dash will not work with my car, and that I need a dash from a 87 and up Mustang. I was told I could do a speed density conversion, but that I would have to buy a MAF conversion kit. I know I bought one of these 10 years ago from FMS but I haven't had a chance to see if that very simple kit is still around from Ford. Anyone else do a MAS conversion on an older ford without such a kit? with the older style dash and gauge setup?

Here's what she started out looking like

Actually ditch the 89 harness, and get the one from Ford. It is made for vehicles that are switching over to a EFI MAF setup from older models. Like an old 60's mustang, or in this case, your Nice capri.

If I am mistaken someone will chime in, but as far as I remember thats the best way to go.

Thanks for the info, I called Jegs and they sold me a MAF conversion harness with pigtail, they claim all I needed was to repin the old harness where it plugs into the computer, and an A9L computer and i'm set. I have the meter so it should be as simple as a repin.

Let us know the end result if it is a simple repin, and then be sure to post exactly what you got. Good luck bud.

OK lets kick this back up to the top. t\The wiring harness is in the car, as is the A9L computer. I bought a pigtail from jegs, and repinned the main harnes to work with the pigtail. The only thing left to do is hook up all he fuel lines and double check all connections before fire up...Here are pictures of the car in fresh paint.
