I have designed a homemade cold air kit for MAF 2.3 stangs that can be made from parts purchased at your local parts store and hardware store. The kit pictured below is made out of PVC but you could also use SS pipe. Just wanted to know if you guys thought this would work before I buy the parts and build it. It runs from the throttle body to the inside fender well about where the stock air box is.

If you think it is crap please let me know! I think it would look alot better made out of SS weld pipe, but I am not a pipe welder.

Looks fine, I'd use 2.5" throughout though so there is no change in diameter after the maf.

What'd you draw that in? Nice drawing anyway.

An intake like that has been done before, was in the tech articles sticky, although I think the link is bad now.

I drew it in Solid Works. It is the same 3D CAD design software Jason from American Chopper uses to design their bikes.

I saved the page for the custom intake for the 91-93s. I'll look for it when I get home and post it somewhere if anyone one wants it.

I've made that intake a long time ago outta pvc pipe. used 3'' myself, and it turned out really nice.

attached a 6'' k&n cone on the tip, in the fenderwell, and above 60, it helps, below it, you wont notice anything but alot neater noise comin from under the hood when ya step on it.

It really helps with gas though, for sure

I never understood why it would help with gas? Some have said they saw a drop in mpg? I thought the more air going in means the more fuel going in to balance out the ratio? So why better mpg?
