MAF Gasket?

I bought a used C&L meter and when I went to swap the sample tubes there was a gasket in between the electronics and the meter. Is one supposed to be there? Never seen this before. Also some kind of goo, (silicon?)
Am I supposed to change this stuff out or can I get away with cleaning it up and bolting the electronics back to the housing with nothing inbetween them.

you can reuse the gasket...the goo is O-ring lubricant. I've never seen the gaskets or O-rings for sale. Should be available at your local Ford garage if either one needs to be replaced.
