maf question

Im going to make a homemade cai with the filter in the fenderwall,if i upgrade the maf will it have to be for a cai?I am putting a ported cobra intake,so with my mods should i upgrade or save my money.

Save your money. A different maf is useless at this point.

im wondering if a maf is even worth it for me right now?

I think the home made cai is a great idea

IMHO, mine was the best gain, low buck mod I did
You really could feel it when the temps cooled down at night

The first one I did was a 3 inch pipe straight to the hole with a 90 bend and the filter was just above the frame rail deep down in the inner fender. Worked great but the 90 bend did restrict some air flow...... Not that I was making much at that time

My current cai is nothing but a straight 3 inch pipe to my maf which is in the hole. The filter is mounted on the maf and is about 85% in the fender. ProM 80's are really big, lol. Straight shot with no bends of any kind from tb to filter.

I wouldn't say a mass is totaly useless. If you plan on a tune or a blower later down the line it not a bad idea.
