Maf sensor and Bap sensor

I have a 1989 Mustang LX...This might be a dumb question but why does my car have a Mass Air Meter and a BAP sensor? Isn`t this the same thing...but with two sensors? Any Help PLease!

The mass air gauges how much airflow is coming into the engine.

The BAP (barometric air pressure) sensor meters the outside air pressure.

mass air meter is in the air intake tube. If you have one rubber tube its a SD engine if you have 2 then its MAF.

MAF sensor measures the air mass. BAP sensor measures the barometric pressure. Without the BAP, you'd run rich, or lean depending on your altitude and the atmospheric pressure.

Where is the BAP located on a 92?

On the firewall, behind the upper intake manifold.
