Maf Sensor

I am changing this today on my 92 mustang to a 75 mm.. Is there anything else I have to do besides actually change this part only ? Like unplug something else, then stand on one leg while disconnecting the battery so the computer resets ??
or will the new size just automatically adjust ?
I used to have a 67 mustang and it was so much easier, Just change the part and that's it ! lol I am not up with all this computer stuff.. been doing ALOT of reading trying to get this stuff figured out.. and thank you all too for your help

What other modifications have been done?
If this is a stock setup I doubt you will see any difference.

As long as the MAF is sized to the injectors, justvswap it.

I'd probably unplug the battery for 30min and let it relearn fuel trim/injector pulse from scratch

306 block , with GT 40 heads , upper and lower intakes , 410 rear, 24lb injectors.

The MAF sensor and the housing work together as a unit. It is not recommended that you use a MAF housing from model A MAF and a model B sensor. If you stick with an aftermarket unit designed to use the 24 lb. injectors you should be OK.


You must clear the codes anytime you replace any sensor.

How to clear codes.
Clear the computer codes by disconnecting the battery negative terminal and turn the headlights on. That clears the computer's memory of codes and the adaptive learning data it generates from sensors. Turn the headlights off and reconnect the all sensors including the MAF and anything else you may have disconnected. Then reconnect the battery negative cable.. This clears all spurious codes that may have been generated while troubleshooting problems. This does not fix the code problems, it just gives you a clean slate to start recording what the computer sees happening.

Run the car for at least 30 minutes of normal city driving and dump the codes again to assure that you have fixed the code problem or sensor problem

Pro M 75 mm MAF? what size throttle body.

according to an article I read on the American Muscle website on fox body's, , If you have a 75mm maf, then you should have a 70mm throttle body., But whatever size maf you have, then the throttle body should always be the size smaller to create the " funnel " effect
