Which one has more of a deep growl kind of sound to it? I've listened to mustangexhaust a lot, but i dont think sound clips over the internet do justice to the sound. I want to do and x pipe and hopefully headers if funds allow, so how much will that change the sound? Will it just make it louder or change the tone and everything?

pllory flowmaster. So is magnaflow, but magnaflow is not as loud as flowmaster for the most part

If you want a deep loud sound then Flowmaster is the way to go. X pipe and headers will only make it louder. I have a UPR offroad x pipe and 2 chamber flows...and its DEEP

It really depends on the type of X pipe you use. If you want an @ss load of drone and a raspy sound get the Flowmasters. However, if you want a nice loud tone get the Magnapacks. They are a straight thru design that will sound great with an X pipe and full length headers.

Flowmaster is deeper, but I like my magnaflows

I got MACS they are real similiar to flowmaster... And not too many people have them... If you live wear you get snow and they put a lot of salt on the road consider more into stainless steel catbacks... I have magnaflow 3.5 inch tips on my 97 gt and mac muffs with off road h and im loud!!! And deep!!! Jus consider listening to mac and flows you will see!

Magnaflow has a better overall product and will last alot longer compared to aluminized. Worth the money.

Why not get both!!! I have Magnaflow X pipe with Flowmaster 40 Series welded in. Sounds awesome. Compliments everywhere I go.

Well as far as the flowmasters go, what is the difference between the 2 chamber and the super 40's? I saw a commercial the other day for them and they sounded pretty good, actually I JUST saw the commercial as I was writing that. Kinda freaky...
Another question, the magnaflows are stainless steel and the flowmasters are not?
And yet another Q, I'm trying to save up money for the headers and X pipe, do I really need the whole catback? Its much cheaper to just weld the mufflers in.

We sell quite a bit of these 2 systems you inquire about. Can't really go wrong with either; they both sound great and have their own unique tone IMO. As far as mufflers go, the Flowmasters Super 40s have been the most popular. These basically use Delta Flow construction (to minimize drone) and they are a 2-chamber muffler that is now in a larger case (black).

I know there is somewhere selling ceramic long tubes cheap its a knock off company of hooker I believe... But in my opinion get a cat back... 3.5 inch tips and mandrel bends... Cant go wrong!!!

Flowmaster and Magnaflow are both deep sounding. Flows have a more muscle car sound. I personally have the American Thunder cat back from Flowmaster and it doesn't drone as bad as Magnapacks nor regular Magnaflows, but the Magnaflow systems are all stainless and have 4" adjustable tips while flows are aluminized and have 3" stainless tips. The only reason I got Flows is for the sound. Horsepower difference is minimal, maybe 1 or 2 hp.

I think Bassani is probably the best quality out there. But they are expensive!
Borla/Magnaflow are comparable


If you go with an O/R-X I'd go with magnaflow. But if its catted you may want Flowmaster so it will be loud enough for you.

My magnaflow&MacProChamber does not drone at all. I personaly do not like really loud exahust, so I suggest my set up to everyone. Don't get me wrong tho. At WOT, it sure is loud, but not like Delta40 or Americanthunder with O/R X on it. Soud is all subjective. I say go to some meet, and listen to it in person. that would be only way you can tell.
you can't beat the quality of Magnaflow. Stainless steel is sure nice, althrough, I don't drive my car in winter. Now if MCPC only comes in Stainless steel...

Thanks guys I think I'm gonna go with the magnaflows then b/c I really want stainless. But I'm def gonna have to get a catted X, so will the flows be loud enough or should I go packs? I want louder than stock, but I dont want my ears to bleed. Please rate them both on a scale of 1-10. Should be interesting.
