I'm wondering if the s.s and aluminum magnaflows sound the same. They both have the same stainless internal construction and end pipes, just a different case.

I've heard that they are same in sound. But Aluminum heats up so fast, and are prone to rust. I would just get SS one tho.

The sound difference is not noticable if there is any at all. Get SS, you won't regret it. With aluminum, you might have to replace it every 25 years. If you're up north (rather than Cali), it might be more often, like every 5 years or so. Like he said, aluminum is prone to rust.

Every 25 years? if that were the case, you wouldn't need to worry about choosing aluminum then because how many people keep their car for more than 5 years? ...and if so, how many for 20 or plus years?

I live in so cali and currently have flowmasters (for the past 7 years) and there is no rust (except for on the welds). So rusting isnt an issue, I just dont see the point in spending $60 more dollars for shiny mufflers and a rust protection feature that I dont need. Someone inform me if I'mn missing somthign cause Im going to Brothers Performance in the morning to get some new muffs.

true. U see, you can see my muffler from behind.So i don't want weld rust...

Actually there is a life time warranty on our aluminized mufflers as well-

It covers rust.

We are also in the process of changing them to unpolished stainless.(will still be same price) ..so more then likely you will end up getting unpolished stainless mufflers....
