Magnaflow Question

I have a stock 94 GT aode convert and I want the exhaust note to be about twice as loud as the stock system. Will a Magnaflow catback sound louder? Or should I get the Magnapack system. I'm probably gonna leave the stock h pipe on it. Anyone with experience on this?

removing the mufflers all togather wont make it much louder. the Stock h-pipe has 4 cats and is horrible. an off road will enrichen the sound alot.

i agree w/ NIN, although the different mufflers will make a different note (i think they get a little louder) the real amount of volume comes from eliminating the 2 cats and 2 precats on the H pipe -> O/R X or H or one of those w/ hi-flow cats

I 3rd that opionion.

Even the stock mufflers are quite loud if you just switch to an O/R X pipe.

abused, if you are ever in the killingly area let me know if you want to hear it. I have a catco h-pipe with 2 high flow cats and some flowmater mufflers (40 series I think as they were there when I bought it) and it is pretty loud.

So should I get the Magnapack system? I want it louder, but I want to leave the stock H-pipe. Unless anyone knows where to get an o/r h-pipe cheap. Then I'll get the regular Magnaflow catback and an o/r h-pipe. I just want to keep the cops on the Berlin Turnpike off my back.

You can buy an off road H-pipe brand new for under $200 easily. I bought mine used for $50

if you want legal I'd go Flows with your stock pipe (not much louder)

If you have $$ and want legal, go Magnaflow catback w/ hi flow cats (a bit louder), and scrap that POS stock h

If you want extra performance and sound you need to scrap that H-pipe. If you want that keep the cops away from you, you might want to stick with a high flow catted H/X, then some louder mufflers. I've heard that the MagnaPacks are just really nice glasspaks. I had glasspacks but they were loud after I got rid or the catted H. I would recommend the magnaflows.

mustangs unlimited (in Manchester, ct) has an o/r H-pipe for $109.... I know I have been eyeing that for a while...
