What do you guys think about sound, fit and finish? Yes yes i know this is a n00b question, but there wasnt really what i was looking for in the search area

I had a MAC cat-back. The price was right, fit and finish was good, bolted right up and I liked the chrome tailpipes. It sounded mean at idle and pretty bad-arse all around. HOWEVER, I couldn't stand the "drone-zone" on the highway so I had a friend cut out the MACs and install a pair of Magnaflows since I wanted to keep the chrome tailpipes. Much quieter, deeper tone but when you accelerate, it definitely gets loud. I'm much happier with the Magnaflows since I don't want a loud car just a smooth rumble. It just depends on what you want.

Not only totally different sounds, but totally different quality levels. That's like comparing silver ore to top soil

magnaflow all the way ! I think the prochamber midpipe is what makes the first one sound as good as it does.

You can listen to just the MAC catback here, with and without the prochamber. I had the catback with just the stock midpipe on my '99 GT and loved it...sounds just like the clip. Now, I have the ProChamber mid-pipe and it is much louder and I still love the sound. You will notice that it sounds alot more opened up with the prochamber on because there are no cats. I highly recommend the MAC...and unless you drive in rain and snow every day then it will last for years. Hope that helps.

I originally had MAC's on mine for about 2 weeks then turned around and sold it. I went with Magnapacks and I still can't stop grinning!! I get more compliments on my Magnaflow system than any other system I've ever owned. Magnaflows with the packs all the way!!!

My dad has Mac 3" kit on his 00 Stang. Sounds louder and raspier than my 00 Stang does with Flowmaster 2 chamber cat back.

The Magnaflow sound doesnt do anything for me..I like the drone! If I were going to spend that much on a kit that wasnt loud, I would have got a genuine Borla kit.

The Flowmaster "American Thunder" kit has 2 chamber mufflers..The other kit has the 3 chambers.

well the new mac kit does come with stainless tips and a new coating.

I would get the borla stinger if I were you.

I always lean towards stainless but you really have to deside over strait through or champered IMO. CHambered usually has more resonance (drone). this drives me up a wall. I like the car loud when I am getting on it not when i am just cruising down the freeway.

I have the Borla Stinger cat-back. Its a little pricey but imo worth every penny. I love it, I had flows before and my friend has magnaflow on his cobra and I like mine the best.

Just my .02
