Had the Mac system on my Mustang.....sounded great at WOT and idle, but the highway drone made me hate it on a daily driver. The Magnaflow system sound great, without being overpowering with regular cruising. And that’s what I went with on my second car.

Get the magnaflows if you drive the car everyday. If not, get the Macs. I had flowmaster 40's (very sim to the macs) and I LOVED IT, but its damn annoying on the interstate trying to hold a conversation, esp. when the 3.73s came. I switched to the magnaflows and couldnt be happier. Its so deep, and cultured sounding. Dont get me wrong, if I drove the car on the weekends only, Id have the flows back, because prochamber/flows is the best sounding combo out there but driving is so much more enjoyable now without the drone. Youll love either, so get which you like the best, but dont decide based on a soundclip, hear them for yourself first.

Uhhh doesn't that MAC Cat-back have 2.5" exhaust (even the tips) No thanks!!! Get the magnaflow magnapacks. They are good quality.

My friend has an 02 GT with the magnapacks and DAMN *HIS* are loud!!!
The only reason why they are louder than my SLP Loudmouths is because he is blown with cams, putting down 560rwhp. But SLP is proven to be the loudest.

Take a look at the new mac kit. new coating, 3"stainless tips. I like the ball and socket conection over the axel.

the old mac kit sucked IMO and I would have never said anything good about it but his new kit looks better than flowmaster IMO due to the ball and socket over the axel if you did not ahve access to a welder or don't like to weld like me due to the fact you may sell it and try something else.

as to a post above is the a facory s281 car with borla exhaust? if so just weld in different mufflers as the exhaust is already stainless and 2.5. XR-1's sound sick.

I would still go borla, bassani, magnaflow but at least they ditched the chrome tips.

Not to hijack this thread..but do you think that a MAC prochamber w/ flowmaster single chamber race mufflers would be too loud for the stupid hippies in california?...

I hate single champer flows. Worst sound I have ever heard.

100% resonace with really hardly any reduction in sound. I would run strait pipe before I ran those just to save money.

This is for the other "family" GT, that will be used as a daily driver for somebody so this wont be an all out performance car. That is why i am looking for just a catback and maybe a mid pipe later on. Now for the saleen, ide probably get magnapacks and a o/r prochamber but thats the sunny day blast around car. as for the Gt im probably going with just a Magnaflow catback.
