Magnapacks and Bassani O/R X pipe

Hey- just installed my x pipe last night, got a couple questions-
Does the raspiness of the pipe almost sound like an exhaust leak?
I felt around all the fittings with my hands while it was running and couldn't feel any- any other ways to detect them?
It also kinda smells like it's running rich, is this normal because of no cats?
In case anyone is wondering- it sounds bada%$, it's almost a little too loud though.
Definitely seems to have lost some bottom end-

Make sure its tight...I had a problem with my oxygen sensors coming a little loose. I pulled it tight and haven't had a problem. I also noticed that it is very easy for the pipes (the ones that replace the cats) to slide when you install the mid-pipe, causing those small grooves to be exposed and leak a little. I just adjusted them and then put a clamp on the other side of the pipe (for good measure). I haven't had a problem since.

As far as the smell...you have got to expect that, especially when you come to a stop and idle. Those cats filter a lot of that pollution. If it is overwhelming (with your windows up, etc) I would check all of your connections again when its cold, tighten them, and see if it changes.

They do sound bad-ass with the magnapacks, minus the the light popping sounds at idle. I do love the sound, but some would prefer a chambered muffler instead of the straight-thru like the packs. I didn't notice too much change in the bottom-end though.

Muauahahahhah! The passenger side? That side can be a bitch to work with. I took mine to a muffler shop after I put my Bassani O/R X on and they tightened it for me for free. No more leaky after that.

Also...you might try getting a gasket for that connection. Some people say they leak without it, but mine had a flange fit, so I didn't need it.

Well after two days of driving with it I have decided it's just way too loud with the pack's, I'm sure it sounds better with chambered mufflers. It's up for sale with the steeda mil's if someone is interested, if not I'll put it on Ebay-

I just installed my Packs last weekend and bought my off road H pipe and plan to instll next weekend . Well ::.. CROSSES FINGERS ..:: lets hope my ears can take it.

Well I really wish I could get over how loud it is, I don't think I really care for the X-pipe sound, I like my stock H pipe sound much better, more of a muscle car sound, the X pipe sounds more like nascar. I definitely think it's too much with the packs. Besides I think the car felt quicker with the stock H pipe, I don't spend a lot of time in the higher RPM ranges where the x pipe makes it's power, it's a daily driver and I don't take it to a track. Would a new H pipe with cat's sound better than the stock one?

And remember that its gonna get louder as they break in hahaha.

Your stock h makes your car feel quicker because it gives you more end torque. With the o/r x, you lose back pressure and with it low end torque but you gain power up top. A catted h pipe would probably be for you. It's going to be quieter, the muscle car sound you want, and low end pickup.

Mine felt ALOT faster after the O/R X...below 1500RPM was where i lost a LITTLE bit of grunt. Lowend torque doesnt win races. I wouldnt sacrifice alot of lowend grunt for a litlle up top gain however.

Yeah, I try not to take it past 5000 rpm, with gas prices the way they are and I just don't really like to beat on my car, I'm sure they can handle the RPM's but I plan on keeping it a long time. I will get the sound clip before I pull it off today as promised. Would an aftermarket catted H sound better than my stock one?
