MagnoFlo Exh w/ a X pipe

OK I have MagnaFlo exhaust and it is a litle too quiet for my preference. I am going to buy one of those x pipes that have the interchangleable cats/no cats. I was wondering if this would change my sound to be a little bit louder? I just spet 500 on the exhaust and am not to keen on buying a different exhaust system....bu I will buy other stuff......

I have Magnaflows on my 2006 GT. With LT headers and an H pipe, they were too loud, in an undesirable way: at about 1500-2000 RPM (about 60-70 mph) there was a horrendous resonation in the cabin. I removed the LT headers (for other reasons) and also replaced the H with an X-pipe. The car runs quieter, no annoying resonation. BUT, I don't know whether to attribute the new quieter sound to the elimination of the LTs or the H-pipe, or to both. Before changing the H to an X, my mechanic gave me his opinion: the X is quieter but more powerful.

Did you have the magnapacs or the magnaflo exhaust mufflers?

from what i have experienced with other cars, an h pipe is deeper in sound, while an x pipe is more raspy sounding. neither of them are really quiet unless they have cats...

I think I am going to go with the the X pipe.....

I am going to go with a modular x....any suggestions......don't care about the cats too much they will be on there only for the Smogs.......I am prob going to get a diablo tuner for the Mil Elimination......

How are you dealing with the CEL and DTC issues? Are you getting a Dyno tune?

OK I purchased the Bassani O/R X pipe. I have an SCT tuner that can turn off the cats. This works out nice cause come smog time I will put the stock pipe back on and turn the cats back on on the tuner.

P.S. that tuner made a killer difference w/ my automatic.
