AHAHAHA IT RUNS!!!!

Roughly, but it's Running! Took it for a quick ride, and even untuned, MY GOD it wants to pull! This intake feels like I did a headswap, it feels completely different!

It's a manual choke, so I have to set it by hand for now... but who cares! It's idling around 2000 rpms, any articles on how to properly tune the carb (Holley 1850)? Any advice?

There is no big enough right now!

Oh, and I also don't have any power brakes as well as when I hit it with the timing light, the light wouldn't pick up the pointer on the crank pulley, and it is there WTF?

No,there is no waterjacket in the middle of the heads,EGR is there...

Now with that, maybe you just got a little bit of water on the manifold, but if your actualy geting water pushed into that spot,NOT GOOD.

You got access to a vacuum gauge? I woud suggest hooknig one up and see how much your pulling,if the power brake arent working, there is a vacuum leak somewere.

And what do you mean "the light wouldn't pick up the pointer on the crank pulley",you mean the ingraved timing mark?

That because its too far advanced.Turn the dizzy till it shows.Retard it.

OK, got most everything hooked back up, checked for vac leaks with carb spray, no noticeable drops in rpms. Brakes feel a bit mushy, even with the vac lines connected, could that be a sign of a vac leak? I haven't gotten my hands on a vaccuum gauge yet. Timing is set to 12* BTDC

Car runs great for about the first two minutes driving it. Then, the idle jumps to about 1700 from 1000 when in neutral, it starts bucking when I give it gas, and stutters under load in higher gears :? Gonna recheck my timing tonight. Any other ideas on this? It's a manual choke, which sucks because I have to now connect the choke cable, which got me thinking. On start up, I set the choke by hand, and after the car warms up for about 2 minutes, is when it starts to act up. I'm guessing this is also related to the choke being open. So I also tried stopping after it was warmed up, and with the car running, closing the choke a bit. The car seemed to smooth out, but as soon as it's given any gas it wants to die.

Also, anyone interesting in trading a good condition working stock Holley 4180 for my brand new Holly 1850?

Wow, just went out and cracked the choke open then took it for a drive...turns out that was the problem! Turns out I was closing the choke when it warmed up instead of opening it. Dear LORD does it pull in the midrange now. Gonna recheck the timing again when it gets darker just to make sure.

Another couple of questions, my Fuel Pressure reads a static 9psi no matter what, the entire time the car is running. I have it setup with a t-fitting right after the inline fuel filter before the carb. When I shut it off, it still reads 3psi :? I'm thinking it's a faulty gauge?

Also, when I shift under hard acceleration, I hear an almost turbo spool like noise :WTF: High pitched and lasts only a second. Any ideas?

I want to go ahead and offer A HUMUNGOUS THANK YOU!!! TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED ME OUT IN THIS THREAD!
Without all the information you guys have provided, my car would not be running!

I wish I could buy you all cold beers!
