Make sure you tighten your lugs...or else!

Maybe you guys shouldn't pass judgement before you get a hold of what happened.

The owner of the car is a guy named Fritz, he's a local here in Tally. The story...off of TMCA.

********************************************

---- I feel bad for this guy (he is a local) at the Dixie SCCA Autocross at Cecil Today...Apparently his aftermarket lugs were not correct for his studs

---- Count 'em...4.

That front left was snagged on the bent stud...Poor Bastard

It was amazing, all 20 lugs just exploded off the car as he went to negotiate the first slolum cone, then wheels started flying every where...I have never seen anything even remotely close to that deal..

---- That sucks for Fritz, didn't he just get those lugnuts last week?

---- apparantly he was sold the wrong lug nuts

These were diff. people ^^ posting this.

that sucks and everything but jeez man, you gotta know you dont have the right lug nuts when you're putting them on, ya know? that sounds like a huge (and expensive) learning experience.

some threads are close enough to fit on with a lot of force or fit on so loose that they might work themselves off.

if he had the wrong lugs they probably just powered on em on with an impact and thought they were good. thats gotta suck.

Sounds like it's a great excuse to save embarassment about the wrong lugs.

I agree. He is still a idiot.

Most likely cause of this is if he tried to use standard lugs nuts with no acorn that was meant for a hub centric wheel on a wheel that needed acorn lug nuts. The wheels on his car are lug centric so they needed acorn nuts.

If thats what happened then he is a true idiot.

Even worse if it was the wrong thread pitch, if you don't notice that then you have no business being near a wrench.
