Are you buying the Evo outright or getting a loan? Do you have loans on the cars now?

So your going to sell two vehicles to get one with a payment... Seems like a good way to spend money, not save it.

Wow, why no love for EVOs?

OP, congrats on the decision and getting an EVO!!! They are really fun, awesome, fast cars. Unlike everyone else, I would consider the EVO a MAJOR upgrade over a fox. Have fun with it! Then later on down the road, you can always pick up a fox for 2k or so to mess with. I personally think an EVO is a great alternative to having 2 cars. Hell, I would trade all 3 of my mustangs for an EVO in a heartbeat.

Please explain the need for AWD. People have driven in snow and ice for about 90 years without it. When I was 17 and 18 and everyone was terrified of a blizzard, I'd intentionally go out and drive to develop snow driving skills. Maybe I'm alone, but the last thing I wanted was to be a grown man in the middle of a NY blizzard and not be able to get where I needed to get. /rant

haha I was the same, living up North in Quebec/Canada, you get used to snow and ice. Loved it! During that nasty ice-storm we had, I was out driving around in my RWD Ranger haha!

When I bought my 4x4 F150, I'd go out at 5am before the plow trucks would clear the roads. I used to teach performance ice driving and off-roading when I was in my early 20's.

But there's no real need for AWD but it does come in handy. Just that a lot of people think AWD or 4x4 means they can still drive like it's a clear summer day. Which explains why most vehicles in the ditch during a snow storm are AWD.

Let's not get into a pissing match with EVO vs. Fox. It's like comparing apples to oranges again. EVO is an excellent car and lots of value for money. No doubt that it's a good alternative if you want something new that can perform pretty damn good without having to buy something for $$$$$. (I like the EVO).

Fox is also an excellent car with lots of opportunity to make into a killer street machine for little money.

Opinion: For a daily driver EVO > Fox simply because it's new and easier to drive. For fun weekend toy, I'm going to stick with my old Fox because I like the supercharged, rough idling V8 and the traction issues that come from that.

A V8 is going to be more fun than a turbo 4 cylinder any day, those evo motors are peaky, expensive to modify, and lack any respectable torque. AWD is fun for a while, but you will miss hanging your RWD car sideways quick, and you will miss the low end torque of the V8. A 350 horse mustang will be more fun than a 500 horse Evo hands down. Not to mention the value of Evo's keeps dropping and dropping, and foxes are only going up in value from here on out.

Dont know why you would expect everyone to jump for joy that he is getting an Evo on a mustang site... and i say he will regret it because i speak from expierience, got rid of my truck for a WRX, the car was fun, and i would have killed myself if i kept it, and buying that car was one of the dumbest decisions i ever made. I sold it for a truck 9 months later.

Evos are sweet. I'm not saying I would take one over my WRX... But AWD is definitely an advantage in the winter, and you can tune an Evo to high heaven.

over a period of time i want it to be aggressive..mustang spinning tires is cool...but an Evo spinning all fours is even cooler

STI over the EVO all day. if you park the fox for a period of time that would end money loss to it and you can just drive/pay for the truck and keep the fox
