Hey guys I have a built Shortblock already with forged pistons, rods, and crank. I'm just curious as to how they make a stroker on these engines? Do they just use a different crank or something? Can someone shed some light on this subject?

From what i understand you would need longer rods and shorter pistons(to stop PTV issues) along with the different crank.

diff stroke length, hence the stroker name.i have a 5.0 stoker from mmr,its a bigger bore and longer stroke then a stock rod would be,the crank is also diff.so essentially everything is changed.you can also do it with some diff combo of things but if your asking because you want to make yours, pretty much you would have to get rid of what you have in your bottom end and start over.no sense.

a 281 stroked is a 302 right?

so where do these engines come from:
347
351
331
393
408
427
like..how do you make them??? i think the 347 and the 351 are rooted from the original 302 right?

331 abd 347 are based around the 302W. All the others listed are based around a 351W. Differences in displacement are achieved by variances in both stroke and bore.
