Does someone done or have try to cut some 10 holes mags, to bring them at 3½-4inches large?

Do you think its possible,by cuting, welding and balancing the mags?

I would like to arrive to the track with the ET street on the back and skinnies at front and keep a sleeper look.

i know a guy who cut his ten holes and made them 10" wide and mounted them on a mini tubbed mustang for that sleeper look.

I saw a car in MM&FF with a set of narrowed Pony's once, so I imagine it's possible. I just don't know how you'd cut them accuratley enough....giant band saw? Super huge steel lathe?

88POSLX has done it. He narrowed the fronts to 5" wide with 165's on them.

I started with a hacksaw but it was taking way too long, so I started using a sawzall.

jk - They were done by a wheel shop that specializes in this kind of work. I wouldn't even try something like this. I would imagine they are cut on a lathe that cuts them true. Don't forget, you would need to make two cuts to remove two inches. And tig welding aluminum is not easy.

So you did bring them at 5 inches large and put 165-15 tires.

Right?

Yes, they are 15x5 with 165/15's. That's what you see in the pics.

I have been asking this same question about Pony 5 stars. Nobody seems to know what the cost is. I know to widen them you need another set of rims to cut up. Has anyone heard of anyone doing this to Ponie's?

i dont think any car looks "sleeper" if it has any sort of performance tire (drag radial, slicks) in the back IMO. cool idea though if you really love those rims though.
