When i got my car we it had an aftermarket harness on it, and there were no little connecters for the oil pres. and water temp, plus my tach didnt work...
Well he called and talked to the harness company, i dont remember all teh details but what we did was, Those 2 big plugs, the black and white ones near the firewall. ON a factory setup they are plugged into the injector harness, well on this aftermarket setup they are just hanging there, So we took the original harness that guy guy gave us when we bought her. Plugged the 2 big plugs in and then hooked up the temp and pressure sensors. Started the car and viola, the guages work. So what we will do is study some wiring diagrams, find that wire, say for temp and run a wire, put a little cap connecter so it will hook up to the sending unit. and hopefully it will work.
Now on the tach, on the coil, there is that grey plug, on this aftermarket setup it runs 2 wire to the distibutor wire set. I dont think it does this on the factory setup. Well we tried to find the factory plug, but we found the wire that are supposed to be there, they used the factory plug, they just hooked up the aftermarket wires. The wire were the same colors so we took the yellow wire, which is what my little mini tach was hooked up to, placed that yellow wire from the factory setup onto it and the tach worked. YEAH!
So we fixed the guage problem, now we just have to run some wires and hopefully all will be good. And the guy before use put this harness on and left wires hanging open, anyone know where i can buy some black plastic wire loom???
My dad thinks i will want to keep the car when we start getting everyhting fixed on it....
