Anybody made their hood vent functional? I assume it's easy as cutting out the piece, putting some screen behind it, and viola, but if it were that easy, I'm sure I would have found some threads about it.
I had thought about trying it. I figured it would have been easier than swapping out my hood and front bumper to the 03 style (cause the 03/04 bumper is not the same height, so the hood wouldn't mate to the 99/01 bumper properly).
I never pulled down the heat shield to see what would be involved. I would also double check to make sure that the opening is not over the alternator. It would suck to pour h20 into your alternator when washing it or caught in the rain.
If I ever get a wild hair, I might just go with the FRPP Cobra R hood. I like the higher cowl look. I am still curious to see the 99 done though.
