Making your own taillight bezels?

Was wondering if anyone has ever done anything like this... I was looking for Saleen bezels when i got this idea. What if you just took a set of regular old blackout covers, and cut out the opening yourself... then just sand it and paint it? or is the blackout to thin and might crack when you cut them?

I'm kind of lost here. Why wouldn't you just paint the bezels black on the OEM lights?

the Saleen ones dont have a stock opening so that wouldnt change what im wanting to change

the taillight cover idea is a pretty good one but i you're going to have to be very careful with them.

I just never looked close to them in person... wondering if they would look funny, like not flush with the lights and have a baggy look to them

Ive just painted my stockers before, came out fine.

Painting the stock bezels does not obtain the look of the saleen bezels. I like the saleen bezels not for the black contrast...but for the shape of the tail lights. It is how the lights should look stock IMO.

Black out covers will not hug the tail light tight enough to look right IMO. Anything is possible though. You'd have to be pretty crafty...let us know if u try it!

You don't

It's all one piece....Unless you have the 96+ tails then it's separate

Tape them up well with a few layers. Cut out each lens with a razor. Then polish em up!
