manual rack

i have searched thru the threads and have seen alot of people that have used manual racks from 79-81 mustangs on their cars, but my question is that autozone lists a manual rack and pinion for my car, a 1989 coupe for the same price as the one for 79-81 but is a different part#, is there a reason that the manual rack they have listed for my 89 not work? thanks for any help.

no it will work, just get the matching tie rod ends. one year was shorter than the other so tie rods are longer.

dont do it, dont do it, dont do it! i have a flaming river quick ratio rack on my car with the stainless steel steering knuckle and hate it! its a pain in the butt to manuvere around parking lots and infact im thinking of transafering back to power steering and I only have 23 miles on the setup. ill sell it to you?
