Many new UPDATES to the cars!!

Well been a busy winter (again!). Took my 408 and p.a. c-4 out of the orange mach and put it in my pro street fastback. Added a backbrace, new rod ends, 4.56 with spool, 35 spline axles, new coil over shocks. Also took off the choking dual plane intake, small carb and small 1 5/8 headers and put on a vic jr intake with custom pro systems 950 hp, and accufab 1 3/4 headers. Also with a trans brake. Never tried one of these before but it should be pretty fun. Also added new M/T wheels with 31x18.5-15 hoosier quick time pros. The motor last year in the mach ran 11.39@119. I am hoping for 10's this year. Anybody take a guess if it will?? And I am still going to drive the crap out of it, all street legal with full interior, cd player, and still only 10-1 compression. Not geat at posting pics. We'll see if this works. Oh, also put my old faithful mild 351w back in the orange mach. That used to run mid 12's. It should be a fun year.

I wish the timing was right and I could have bought your Cleveland.

Yea, that was a good running motor. It went to a guy in Madison.

lauras70mach1 - Beat Tony's capri this year???!! I was beating him last year when the motor was in the mach!! :nice: Now I am just going to beat him even WORSE!!

Thanks guys. I still have a few things to do to it yet. (white car, that is, mach is done and ready)

11.39 is awesome for such a mildly modified car! What kind of roll bar are you using? Although I built my car for the road courses, I'm only 15 miles from MIR, so it's a lot easier to go drag racing. I've been afraid to take mine to a strip for fear of twisting the body. Your 408 sounds similar to mine with the exception of the intake and carb. I stuck with the short Torker II to fit the shaker set-up. If you ran 11.39 with a dual plane and 1 5/8 headers, I would hope I could do at least that well assuming I can get traction (and learn how to drive:D ). What wheels/tires were you using at the strip?

Had no roll bar in the mach. I ran mostly at Cedar falls raceway in Iowa which waaas an IHRA track. They didn't care about rules too much. They changed to an NHRA track now and I heard the rules will be enforced now. Which is not really a bad thing anyway. I have a 6 point in the pro street car. The tires on the mach are just 28x11.5-15 e.t. streets. That is kind of the reason I bought and built the pro street car. The doors were starting to shut a bit harder. I think without the cage, it is just a bit too much power.
