Why do you leave the vaccum port open on the MAP sensor,when you are doing a mass air conversion?

A MAF ecu does not require the manifold pressure input to calculate MASS of air, as this is all done in the MAF sensor.
The MAF ecu does still need a reference for Barometric pressure though, which is why we simply remove the hose from the MAP sensor (which turns the MAP into a BAP)

My car has a MAF conversion, and it has a 22 code in it, is there a ajustment for it or just buy a new map? if so do I buy one for a MAF or a speed density?
