Anyone know anything about marine blocks? There is a guy locally selling a 76 marine shortblock. Apparently it comes with forged pistons, rods, and a steel crank. Has 800 hours on it. Is this something I should try to get? Apparently it has the same high nickel content like mexican blocks.

EDIT. LOL Apparently the word s n a t c h gets the ***** treatment

well if it has the high nickel like a mex block, check it out. whats he asking?

if it has a cam in it, there is a chance it is ground backwards as some boats are reverse rotation.

I've heard of people using marine cranks not the blocks don't know how good they are. As far as mexican blocks being higher in nickle wasn't that proven wrong awhile back. I think it was mm&ff who did a write up about how untrue that rumor was.
