mass air question

OK Ive been having troubles with my mass air ever since my motor build up! when i put it all back together and hooked it up it runs rich and farts and bucks and runs like crap! so Ive been running it unplugged now for awhile with no ill effect! so i figured the electrical unit was faulty so i go to the wreckers and get one out of a 95 3.8l mustang! it plug and play hooked it up no probs car ran great! so i thought well ill take the electrical off the new one and put it on the other unit the old mass air and see if it works so i take the old electrical unit off swap it for the new unit i just got hook it all up and take her out for a spin! and it stats farting and bucking and running like **** again! so i swapped them out again and put the 95 mass air back in and it runs great! my question is why wouldn't the other mass air units work even with the 95 electrical hooked up? but the whole 95 unit works fine? i dont know! i guess ill just have to buy the adapter for the 95 and run that one then! unless anyone here knows whats up? the othe mass air units are a pro flow and a C&L both brandnew! i would like to use one of these because they look nicer than the 95 one!

I did not follow that exactly, but you MUST use the housing that comes with a given MAS sensor. If you use the 95 sensor (part number F2.......), you HAVE to use the 95's housing as well.

If you put the 95's sensor in the fox 55 mm housing, you should run a good bit rich.
