Will a Mass Air sensor from a V-6 work on a V-8 if the injectors are the same size between the two engines?

It depends on what vehicle the meter was pulled from...

Has nothing to do with the injector size, when you're dealing with Ford meters. (aftermarket meters are cal'd for injector/ecu though...)

A meter from a 94-95 v6 Mustang will be the same as the meter on a 94-95 v8 Mustang.

Let us know more details on what you have...
part numbers if you have them.

I don't have the sensor yet.I found that a Ford Taurus with the Duratech V-6 runs the type 3 24# injectors (I'm using Explorer 19# type 3 injectors now).I pulled 12 all together and then I got to wondering, will the sensor for the Mass Air meter work with these injectors on my car, assuming that the sensor will fit as it's supposed to on my Mass Air meter (which is a Cobra 70mm meter).I'm not exactly sure of the year of Taurus.

Let's confirm what you will be using...

1. Injectors will be 19Lb
2. ecu is an A9L/A9P/A3M/A3M1/etc?
3. 70mm Cobra MAF housing

For this to work you will want to put a F2VF sensor in the Cobra housing.
That *should* work the same as a 94-95 Mustang MAF/MAS setup.
I can't confirm that though.

The F2VF sensor can be found on several vehicles in the j/y's...

Certain year taurus's with the 3.8 V6 engine (the 3.0's they use a smaller meter opening) maf will work as I've taken at least 3 off em in the junkyard and they worked the exact same as my factory one.....since they both have the same part number. but I'm talking about the meter and housing is the same, it probably wouldn't work right in a bigger housing.

I plan on installing my E303 cam,and 24# injectors.I have the A9P and 70mm Mass Air meter.I'll need a sensor to use for the 24# injectors.

I have the same meter and found out on the cobra forum that the meter is calibrated for the 19 # injectors and the computer adjusts for the 24# injectors. So unless you have a tune for the injectors that meter will not compensate for the 24's. The part number on mine is F2VF-12B579-A1A.. oh forgot to put it is a 94-95 cobra 70mm

It is important to understand this...
Ford sensors are not calibrated for an injector size.
Ford calibrated the output of the MAF/MAS unit to an ecu.

With that said...

... You won't find a sensor that will allow you to run 24's on an A9P, using that MAF tube.

There are options...
1. Custom tune via the J3 port
2. Use an X3Z ecu, 24's, and the 93 Cobra MAF/MAS unit
3. Use an aftermarket MAF meter that is calibrated for the A9P and 24's

If it were my car, I would go with option 1 or 2.
