Master cylinder pushrod questions..

I have installed Baer's front and rear brakes and the new master cylinder that they sent uses the push rod diameter that is larger than what these early cars had. I called them and they said that a 93 cobra push rod would fit but my local ford dealer says that he cant get me just the push rod. Anyone have any ideas other than junk yards?

I know you can buy an "adjustable" push rod that fits vintage mustangs for people that want to remove the power booster from their brakes, but they're not cheap.

Confusing indeed. If the diameter of the pushrod that slides into the MC is larger than the diamter of the stock pushrod. Your stock pushrod will slide right in and work. It just won't 'clip or lock' in. But I doubt that your pedal has enough movement for it to ever actually fall out when you pedal is extended all the way out.

Oh I can assure you that it can, will and has come out of the MC which makes the car undrivable. I have that brand new adjustable push rod and while it has straightened the pedal heights up it does pop out. I just need the right diameter push rod so that I can rethread it.
