My master cylinder on my car went out and now my brake pedal goes down to the floor after being pressed for a while. I am looking for a new one, but i noticed that mine has a spot for 2 wires to connect from the firewall harness. What are these wires and are they needed? Here is a pic of how it looks.

That's the brake light switch. These master cylinders are easily available, but if you want increased safety, use a stock 67 drum brake master with your 64 pushrod. You'll have to move the switch to the part of the divider block now used by the rear bake line (which will be connected directly to the master cylinder). That will requires a brass adapter, since the hole is an inverted flare and the switch is a pipe thread.
