maverick disc brakes...help please

a couple years ago i pulled some disc brakes off an early 70's maverick. i'm pretty certian they will fit on my 65 coupe. but i have a problem, i'm not sure where to get some parts. i need new rotors, pads and a mastercylinder. does anybody know of a good place to get these from? thanks
 
I saw that you're in the 661 code. How close are you to Sant Clarita or Lancaster? I know of at least two stores here that have rotors for about 30-35 each, a Maverick MC for less than 20, and more any other brake part you're want for '61 and later cars.

The 70 Maverick used the same spindle-brake system as 70 Mustang. The small parts including rotors, pads, calipers are easy to find and inexpensive.

how would i go about finding a mastercylinder that would work for my car? or will they all pretty much work as long as i get a manual brake/ front disc/rear drum m/s?
and also, i dont know what year these spindles are off of exactly. is there any way to tell so that i get the right parts?
 
Most local auto parts stores still stock parts for the Maverick/Granadas, or at least can order it. $500 seems very high, I did the enitire granada conversion for about $325.

As far as the spindles, the parts should be the same across the board, so it shouldn't matter if they are 70, 71, 71, etc.

The spindles have a part number on the inboard side of the upper ball joint upright.

Then you're in luck. There is this place called A.V. Brake Supply that is a brake and suspension parts warehouse. I've never been to the SC location, but Google Maps shows it to be on Oak Avenue off of Soledad Cyn Rd.

I have Granada hardware, but many parts are the same as Mavericks. You just need a Maverick master cylinder for a front disc brake car. A.V. Brake will have the rotors for less than $40 each and the bearings/seals will probably be about that also. Rebuilt calipers and new hoses set me back about $90.
 
-what do i do with my brake lines? will i need to run all new hardlines from the m/s to the rubber lines? or will the dual master cylinder bolt right up with the same lines?
-as for my rubber lines...will they screw into the calipers or will i need to figure something out?
and last question for now...
-do i need to get different outter tie rod ends?

When they were an option, they were Granada brakes.
I have a few sets of Mav/Granada spindles/discs laying with some 69 (sm bearing) and 70 (lg bearing) Mustang spindles/discs on my shop floor, they are NOT the same small parts.
The spindles fit various car models, but the spindles, and stuff you put on the spindles are different.
I figured you would know all of this since you try to sell brake parts on several boards.

What I said is that 70 Maverick uses the same spindle as 70 Mustang. This is correct. They use the same drum spindle. This infers that the 70 Mustang type disc spindle is appropriate, which it is. The Granada system will fit just as well, but the 70-73 disc Mustang system is more year appropriate.

I find it interesting that you feel it necessary to reply to postings with a smug "balls in a wheel barrel" attitude. I'm comfortable with my knowledge of Falcon Chassis brake systems. Also notice that I didn't mention my profession, or offer to sell anything to the poster. BTW, Granada spindles were only made with the larger spindle pin.

-tie rod end adapter sleeves? (mustangsteve.com)
-caliper attaching hardware-support key and key spring? (i ordered reman loaded calipers, will this hardware come with the calipers or will i have to buy it seperate?)
-disc caliper housing bolts
-anti rattle clips
-line adapters for exisiting m/s fittings to adapt to new m/s

Since when do drum brakes use these parts?
Where did the original post say anything about drum brakes?
Why would you bring up Maverick drums in a thread about Maverick/Granada discs going on a 65 Stang?
Also, why would you try to steer the poster from Granada discs when he already has them? Just to use 70 Stang discs because they are closer in year???
They all swap, and the Granada design IMO is simplier and is cheaper to get parts for... At least the sets I have built were cheaper than the Stang sets I built. Easier to work on.

And no, I wasn't the one to bring attitude to this party... This thread maybe, but we have crossed paths before and you were quick to boast of your brake exploits, trodding over the opinion of others. That is what earned a point out on your comment.
