Roush MaxGrip ???

Hello Guys,

Can someone please educate me on the Maxgrip rearend?... How do they work differently than the regular rearend, and is there a benefit to having one...??? What are the ratios and do they require special axles??

The Saleen MaxGrip diff. is a viscous limited slip. It incoporates a geo-rotor pump (basically the same design as a Ford oil pump). As one wheel spins faster than the other, fluid pressure increases and applys pressure to the clutch pack. Works great on entry, mid-corner and exit cornering. Thats the simple way of describing it. Another comparison is the Torsen diff.

It has been awhile since I have read up on, or heard anything about, this differential. I believe the MaxGrip package comes with the differential and 31 spline axles.

I remember it being over 1000 dollars as well. You could get a very nice Torsen and 31 spline axles for less than that, and maybe have some money left over for gears as well. I don't see it listed on Saleen's website any more.
