my cousin gave me a 85 ranger, its a short bed manual trans. body's in great shape but the 2.0 in its shot. it had a rod knock when i got it and i drove it till it blew. any ways im really wanting to find a turbo coupe motor and put in it but im kind of wondering if this would be a pain in the butt or would it be a fairly easy swap. its carbed now thats the only thing i was really worried about. i drive about 30 to work and i thought this would be a fun daily driver. let me know what you think

i dont know really what would have to be done but over at www.rangerpowersports.com there is a form for the turbo rangers and they would probably have your answer there. im a member there for my 85 ranger but its a v6

You can also check out turboford, lots of info there. I don't know anything about ranger swaps though. Ranger powersports probably would be your best bet.

A mild, carbed 302 would be easier to wire and not require high octane fuel. Swap kits are easy to find. And 302's are easier to find than turbo 2.3's.

Just my feelings on the matter..........
