you sure about that?Michael Yount said:You bit JT. No such thing as metric time.
I have been running Mechanical gauges for the last 15 years with no problems.89MustangGX said:I've had mechanical before, and had an oil line loosen up and make a mess.
AutoMeter says their electrics are just as accurate as their mechanical gauges -- so that's the way I'm going.

For the oil line I don't use the plastic hose that comes with the kit. I use the copper line like this.![]()
For $8.95 it works like a charm!![]()
As for the water temp gauge, I use the mechanical also. No fliud to leak here either like stated above.
I like the idea of the water gauge working all the time just like a thermometer. Doesn't need the car on to work. It's a nice thing when you are at the track and waiting to run. You can just glance in and see your temp.![]()

OK. I understand. Just in case some others didn't know.89MustangGX said:I'd never even think of using the plastic tubing -- mine was copper as well. But the fitting loosened up. Maybe it was a fluke, or maybe it wasn't tight -- even though it didn't leak for however long it was in there before -- just one day it started.

i'll get the copper line tomorrow It is very thin. Only 1/8" thick. I just used a dremel cut off wheel to trim the excess. But I'm sure other things will work as well as long as you can slide the coupler over the tubing it should be fine.slo65 said:as far as the copper line goes i know it'll come with the fittings and stuff, but how should i cut the pipe? a mini pipe cutter or....?
