What is the big difference besides price in mechanical and electrical gauges? Are electrical gauges really that much better to justify such a higher price?

Thanks!

i have mechanical gauges, i prefer mechanical because they are more accurate. The only real drawback is they are more difficult to install

so you don't think they are more accurate?

If not, why not?

Why would you buy electrical then?

You don't want to run fuel or oil lines through your dash for example, so that would be a good reason to use electrical.

Thats why old schoolers used to mount the fuel gauge on the cowl.

I have a mechnical boost but electric fuel pressure. Both were equally as easy to install.

Imo anything to do with fluids would be best to use electrical inside the cabin. Just for safety sake.

Electrical seems like the safer choice to me. As everyone has already said. I dont think the difference in accuracy is really all that significant.
