The cool thing about MS is the price. You will save possibly thousands of $$ by going with MS but before you decide which route to go, you need to realize that customer support is very limited with MS. That's what you'll be paying for if you go a different route.
That said, I've got MS-II on my engine and am very pleased with it. It's very straightforward, easy to manipulate, and the various sensors are easy to find and well within a moderate budget.
if you have acess to used (junkyard)parts the eeciv can be done on the cheap. just have to find a late (efi) truck . you will need the tfi distrubitor and the fuel rail, the intake will need to be sourced from the aftermarket (readily availble) unless you can fit the huge truck intake under your hood. for a harnes, assuming the car that has this carbed windsor was never efi equiped. you will need a 89-93 5.0 liter mustang engine/computer harness. the harness will go on the 5.8 liter engine the same way as the 5.0 liter. you will also need a few of the misc sensors maf,o2 coolant and air intake the speedsensor and the canister purge is not necessary. there is a short cut. summit sells a harness kit from ford that comes with instructions, but it is exactly the same as the factory 5.0 mustang harness. chris

Don't let the low costs and lack of customer support make you underestimate the power and ability of MegaSquirt. It is just as capable as most other kits on the market.
MS is fully adequate in either speed density or mass air. Mine is currently set up in the mass air configuration. One of the best features of MS is that you can alter the settings and features of it relatively easy in the future if you ever decide to change your mind.
MS gets information from a barometric sensor, MAP sensor, TPS, coolant temp, and a number of other optional sensors. It's a great system!
