Hey guys, I've got an 85 Capri and I need a headlight mounting panel. I know this isn't a heavy Capri forum but hopefully there's a few of you out there.

This panel is a bear to find, I've got one from an 82 Mustang, but it doesn't fit right, so now I need to find a new one. I'm wondering if any of you guys would know which years of which models of Fox's would fit. I'm positive the 85 and 86 mercury header panel will fit, but I'm not sure about other years. The later model mustangs ones might, but I'm not sure untill I try I suppose. Unfortunatly I don't have a picture of the old one as it was pretty well destroyed by a deer.

If anybody has any ideas, I'm all ears.
Thanks!
~Donald

If your just replacing that plastic headlight panel and not the entire bumper cover, I believe any 79-86 capri panel will work. I totally understand your pain in locating Capri parts but I dont think there are any Mustang panels that will fit in the Capri bumper cover.

I think you're right, on both parts. I got a picture of an 82 header panel, and I can't tell the difference. I'm told there are some but it's minor. And everybody is saying the front bumper cover from 79-86 pretty much stayed the same.

Well yes and no. They will phisically interchange but the center mouulding is different from 79-84 and 85-86. And I'm wanting to say that there are differenced in the 79-84 stripes that are in that moulding strip but not positive on that.

Ah yes, the grill and moulding are different between the years, I was thinking more of the physical mounting, as that's what's going to make the header panels work for me or not
